Juicing For Weight Loss and Health is a great way to get you on track this Summer!

Spring is known as the season which rules the liver and gallbladder in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

A wonderful way to assist weight loss enhance beauty and promote optimal health is to get juicing!

I love to juice this time of year and I always eat with the seasons, I gravitate towards foods that support detoxification every spring and this is a juice I make daily.

I’ll be honest, it is not a great tasting juice, but you can sweeten it if you like and don’t worry it’ll be fine:) It doesn’t bother me because I know how good it is for me.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa), one of the world’s healthiest foods, is a powerful medicine that has long been used in the Chinese and Indian systems of medicine as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat a wide variety of conditions, including indigestion, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, bloody urine, hemorrhage, toothache, bruises, chest pain, and colic.

Turmeric is highly valuable for the digestive system and the liver.

It stimulates bile production in the liver and encourages excretion of bile by the gallbladder. This helps the body’s ability to digest fats….good news for weight loss 🙂

Beets are known as a liver protective food and are one of the richest dietary sources of antioxidants and naturally occurring nitrates. Nitrates are compounds which improve blood flow throughout the body – including the brain, heart, and muscles.

Beets are also wonderful for beautiful glowing skin and hair due it’s powerful antioxidant compounds. An excellent blood builder and blood purifier.

Process the following ingredients in your juicer:

  • Turmeric roots, 2-4 small (or start with one) Sold at Whole Foods
  • Beet root, 1/2 medium beet or start with 1/4
  • Ginger root, 1 inch piece
  • Lemon, 1/2 one lemon
  • Celery, 4-5 stalks
  • Cucumber, 1/2
  • Romaine lettuce, 5 leaves (optional)

If you want to sweeten this rejuvenating elixir simply add green apple. Or juice turmeric, ginger, and beet and drink as a shot, then follow with a delicious blend of romaine lettuce, celery, cucumber, lemon, and apple.

When it comes to juicing, a cold-press juicer will give you maximum nutrient extraction retaining heat sensitive phytonutrients and sensitive enzymes. It will also yield 35 % more juice than a standard juicer. It is definitely worth the investment to get a good juicer! Micronutrients and phytonutrients do wonders for the body.

Nature’s prescription for longevity, vitality, energy, beauty, and weight loss begins by feeding your body at the cellular level.

About angelasassofitness

My passion for fitness began over 15 years ago when I was struggling with weight & health issues most of my adolescent life. I remember when I reached over 185lbs, I had had enough, & had to make some big changes!! I trained myself and lost 50lbs...mind you, it took nearly 4 years to do it because I had no idea what I was doing at the time, but I was committed & I was gonna do it. I embraced Fitness wholeheartedly from moment on. After I had lost 30 lbs or so, I decided to take a Mixed Martial Arts class at a local gym, it was something I had always wanted to do and finally, I was ready. I loved it and dedicated the next 10 years to training full time Mixed Martial Arts. My broad spectrum of MMA training included Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Kali, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It was intense training that included Boxing, Thai Kickboxing, kali weapons, brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as well as Wing Chun. I became an instructor and coach and have taught privately and in group sessions. "Attaining a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and training with Royler Gracie were inspiring moments." Philosophy I experienced from Martial Arts that disipline, focus, and attention is critical to results. Training for me is mental, and aesthetics is what happens after, it’s a side effect of dedication. So if you have an hour, a half hour, 2-4 times a week, to exercise, be dedicated and committed to that time, and I guarantee you will get results! “Martial Arts has laid an awesome foundation for me on many levels and I enjoy being able to pass that on to my clients in a way that fits them & their individual goals. Translating the training principles of discipline, focus, and self awareness to an enhanced level of fitness.” Featured in Shape Magazine April 2011 Featured in OXYGEN FITNESS MAGAZINE June & October 2009 Placed 5th in Fitness Figure @ Sandra Wickham Fall Classic 2009 Certificate in Natural Health/ Alive Academy of Natural Health
